Riding home one stormy night on his horse Meg he has a terrifying encounter with witches and warlocks who chase him through the storm. Grizelda is annoyed. Every time she thinks she can get Alex Braveheart he gets away because, basically, he's just too quick for her. But what about if she can freeze him so that he can't run away?

Alex loves bell ringing which gives Grizelda her most cunning plan yet. It involves gargoyles!

Alex comes across a big red egg which hatches into a really cute baby dragon. This gives Grizelda an idea. If she can capture the dragon, Alex will be sure to rush to its rescue and she'll be able to grab HIM.
